Fortnite POI (WIP)

Coastal Point of Interest

About

[Unnamed] is a small POI tucked away within a coastal redwood forest. Located on the edge of the Battle Royale island, it's a drop zone that sacrifices storm rotation for a quieter looting phase.

Project Duration: July 2026 - Current

Software

  • UEFN

Responsibilities

  • Designing POI from blockout to partial set dressing (in progress)
  • Greybox the level with UEFN greybox assets (and Chapter 7 windows and textures)
  • Populating the POI with loot chests

Initial Blockouts

Initial boathouse and warehouse placement.

    The Process

    • I initially started this project inspired by some of the Fortnite assets I had seen while browsing through the Chapter 7 folders. I was really drawn to the props of Squibbly Shores, and the redwood trees of Battlewoods. My main goal was to familiarize myself with the UEFN workflow and design a named location I could see myself landing at.

    • My secondary goal for this project was to explore the UEFN playset feature (which is why this project is floating in the Unreal Engine void). I want to be able to drag and drop this completed build into an island without worrying too much about the surrounding visuals.

    • I had started this POI by creating the red and white warehouse along the water, as I felt it would be the focal point of this project.

    • Once I created the initial design for it, I locked in my visual design for this project and began collecting my references.

    References

I used PureRef to gather in game screenshots and reference images.
